I had a wonderful conversation this week with the very lovely Lucy Pearse from Womancraft Publishing. She interviewed me about my life experiences as we delved into the stories we hold and the meaning we find within them. I’m a storyteller, with much to say, as well as writer and memoirist.

The podcast episode with Lucy will be released in a couple of weeks on her channel. I’ll send you the details as soon as they’re available. My own podcast ‘Soul Purpose’ continues to explore the fascinating landscape of human expression, with recent episodes delving into soul-searching, life experiences and purpose.

This fascination with the stories of others has been a lifelong journey. I remember being around five years old when the thought first struck me: I had something unique to share, a purpose that was mine alone. I also intuitively knew that everyone else did too, and this sparked a deep curiosity within me.

I didn’t know exactly what my own story was at that tender age, but I could feel its presence. And I knew, with a certainty that belied my years, that I would need to fully live it first.

While the idea of writing fiction never quite resonated – real life has always felt far more compelling – and I’ve come to realise that there’s only so much of our story we can see in isolation.

What excites me most now is diving deep into others narratives alongside them. The conversations we share illuminate not just their journeys, but often cast a new light on my own. Through their perspectives, I’ve had to revisit and reframe many chapters of my life. This hasn’t always been easy; at times I’ve disagreed or resisted. Yet, it has consistently led me to a richer and more nuanced understanding of my path.
This is why I believe we can’t truly write our memoirs alone. Real-life stories need time, reflection, and often someone to help us shape and refine them. This process of crafting, digesting, and allowing ideas to percolate helps us strip away the unnecessary to reveal the very heart of the story.
This is the work I love: helping people find clarity and deeper meaning within their own narratives.

I recognise we are on a mission together – listening with intent for those subtle murmurs of emotion, observing the expressions that flicker across a face, the unconscious movements of the body, and the way hands often articulate unspoken sentences. There’s a powerful connection between the hands and the heart. It’s in these moments that the soul seems most engaged, and I feel a deep pull. This is when I truly connect to something far more profound than the storyteller might even be aware of in that moment. I trust this intuitive sense, knowing that it’s part of my own journey to decipher the intricate tapestry of the human condition, to discover new perspectives, and to recognise when the soul itself is weaving the invisible threads that connect us.

I’m profoundly interested in conversations that move beyond the surface, deep diving into unknown crevices that become the flashlight for new chapters. So when someone speaks in a way that feels rehearsed or inauthentic, I find it hard to connect.

If this resonates with you, I would love to hear from you. You are welcome to join me on this course of deep diving into this awakening process. 😊  https://middleearthmedicine.com/memevents/unearthing-our-story-crafting-our-memoir/
