Exploring gender roles and the embodied interplay between them – a School of Movement Medicine Dance Journey with Caroline Carey and Ben Yeger.
- What is your experience of being a woman / a man?
- What do you bring from the past into your current experience?
- How can we combine the masculine and feminine to create a dance in service of the bigger picture?
Ben Yeger and Caroline Carey offer a gathering to explore the innate wisdom in both genders with a wider understanding of the masculine and feminine in each. Together we will create a space of safety, maturity and clarity. Dividing into same gender communities we will explore what it means to be an individual, peer, friend and what our needs are of each other. From there we will reintegrate as one community to acknowledge each other and dance with the harvest of all we have gathered. We will take a ceremonial journey from personal empowerment through awakened responsibility to arrive at a more mature and interconnected community of men and women.
Ben and Caroline are both experienced Movement Medicine teachers and faculty members for the School of Movement Medicine. Movement Medicine weaves together the exhilaration of free dance with the depth of movement meditation and the spirit of shamanic practice.
No prior movement experience is required, simply your attention and willingness to turn up and be present in the moment.
This work counts as faculty prerequisites for further study with the School of Movement Medicine.
